Instructional Resources
Class Instruction
Reference Librarians are available to instruct all levels of classes in research skills. These sessions may consist of general orientation to library resources or
specialized instruction focused on the discipline. We will also gladly assist you in designing assignments that make the most of library resources and help your students learn appropriate research skills. You may arrange an instruction session for your class by contacting Savannah Patterson (spatterson@uu.edu or 731-661-6544) or Amber Owrey (aowrey@uu.edu or 731-661-5058). Please contact us at least one week prior to the requested instruction date.
Research Guides
Librarians can develop a research guide highlighting the best databases, reference sources, journals, and websites for your class. These guides can also include special tutorials specific to your discipline. To request a research guide for your course, contact Savannah Patterson (spatterson@uu.edu or 731-661-6544) or Amber Owrey (aowrey@uu.edu or 731-661-5058). Please allow at least two weeks for research guide development.

Collection Development
Professional Librarians and Faculty Liaisons
Faculty liaisons are selected from each discipline to assist the library with collection development. Professional Librarians work with faculty liaisons to
better understand and meet their resource needs. Each academic department is represented by one professional librarian and one faculty liaison.
The faculty liaison serves as a contact person between his or her department and the library to communicate resource needs.
To recommend an item for the library's collection, please complete the Purchase Recommendation Form. For departmental questions, please contact Savannah Patterson (spatterson@uu.edu or 731-661-6544) or Amber Owrey (aowrey@uu.edu or 731-661-5058).

Notice Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions
The copyright laws of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) govern the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
