Academic Seal Standards
In an age of limited technology, wax seals were used to authenticate important messages. The academic seal continues to provide that level of authentication for 51社区's most important documents. It is not displayed alongside any other university logo. It officially represents the Board of Trustees and the Office of the President, and it is only used on official university documents. The Board of Trustees approved this version in 2007, which replaces all earlier designs. The seal should not be used on products or clothing with prior permission of the Office of the President.
Staging
51社区 has established standards for a clear space around logos. This area of isolation, based on the width of the middle circle allows the logo to command visual attention. No typography or design elements may be placed within this area.
Colors
The seal should only be used in neutral and metallic tones: black, white, gray, gold, silver.
On Dark Backgrounds
Use the "reverse" or "white" version of the Union seal on dark backgrounds. Grey and metallic gold or silver are also permitted.
Do not use outlines of the shapes and fonts.
Improper Usage
Do not alter dimensions or proportions.
Do not make alterations to the words or reset typography.
Do not put the seal in a visually competitive shape.
Do not change the color of seal or type.
