Keystone Program Testimonials
Noah Miller

"When I came to Keystone freshman year, I did not know what kind of program I was entering. As I immersed myself in the program, I learned important skills to add to my skill list. I was more prepared for college by the end of the program. The Keystone Program pushed me to my potential, and I learned what it means to be a college student. Even after leaving the program, I still find myself coming back once and a while. The Keystone Program is a blessing, and I would suggest that everyone entering Union consider this program."

"Keystone has been there to guide me when I constantly seemed to get lost and to encourage my spirit when it felt down. The Keystone advisors are a big blessing because you can always know someone is praying for you and cares about how you are doing."

"I really enjoyed my entire time throughout the Keystone program. There are so many things that I will forever be grateful to the entire Keystone department for. If I had to pick out one in particular, it would be the guidance they provided for me in my freshman year. I did not know what I was doing when I first came to Union, and that really scared me. With the Keystone program, each advisor was sincerely there for me from the start in order to make my transition into college a lot smoother. They showed me the importance of what a college such as Union can provide to me both academically and spiritually. The love they surrounded me with made me feel as though I had a mom on campus, without the nagging! The Keystone program was one of the best things that could have happened to me while attending Union."

"I can't tell you how thankful I am for the Keystone program. I don't know how else I would have gotten into Union, and through it I learned a lot of valuable life lessons and met many friends. It was also a huge blessing to have wise mentors such as Mrs. Tignor and the rest of the team to guide us during that difficult transition. I remember how scared I was about starting school again after taking a gap year, and this program made the transition go very smoothly for me. I have loved being a student at Union, and it has been a joy to be able to serve in different ministries and get involved."

"Keystone helped me be accountable in getting my work done and doing it well because I met with my advisor every week. It was helpful for me to learn how to study and figure out college academics. Mrs. Tignor and Mrs. Watson were amazing. So helpful. I didn't know I needed help, and they recognized it and walked me through my first year. I couldn't have done it without them."

"Keystone was best thing that could've happened to me. It gave me validation from God that this was the right place for me to be. Mrs. Sherry Tignor, the director of Keystone, takes care of her students as if they are her children."

"I want to give back to Union what was given to me through Keystone. I know there will be future students who may come to college with same fears, questions, and thoughts as I did. I will always remember and be grateful for keystone and the leadership and tutelage that was there."

"Keystone was the bridge that our children needed to successfully transition from high school to college. The support and instruction Keystone gave them built their confidence in studying, writing papers and taking tests. The opportunity for our children to meet on a regular basis with their Keystone advisor gave us, as parents, peace of mind. We are thankful and grateful for the opportunity Keystone gave our son and daughter."

"The Keystone program at 51社区 is wonderful. As a parent of an optional Keystone student, I appreciated the support, encouragement and accountability Keystone provided for my son. His advisor truly cared for him and helped him make the transition well into college life."
Chris Bailey
Assistant Professor of English
"I have had the privilege of being a part of the Keystone community for over six years, and it has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career. As the program's English instructor, I strive to create an encouraging learning environment-one that fosters growth and trust in the classroom. And since I believe strongly that students will succeed if they feel connected to a community, I value beyond measure the Keystone program and all it has to offer the student-the genuine connections, the steadfast support, and the authentic sense of kinship. None of this would be possible without the amazing team headed by its skillful leader Sherry Tignor."
"Year after year, I come back to the program for one main reason: While I am entrusted to teach my students to move to new levels of critical thinking, reading, and writing, they are the ones often teaching me. I have learned from them lessons in earnestness, perseverance, humility, achievement, and community. So, as long as the program will have me, I will continue to teach and learn alongside these outstanding students."
