JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 18, 2004 — 51社区 will host The Job Market, the 13th annual consortium career fair, on Thursday, March 11th. The event is sponsored by a five-member consortium that includes Union, Freed-Hardeman University, Lambuth University, Lane College and Bethel College in an effort to provide career resources to their students and alumni.
The Job Market will feature approximately 40 corporations and agencies and will include several Fortune 500 companies. Corporate sponsors include Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Wells Fargo, Enterprise, the Tennessee Department of Audit, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, the U.S. Army, Sherwin Williams, American Express Financial, mStat Medical Solutions and Southwestern Book Company.
"Each of our institutions wants its students and alumni to have a look at viable corporations and organizations, while giving our recruiting employers the opportunity to review our graduates for early hiring before spring graduations are held," said Jacqueline Taylor, Union's director of career services. "We also want current students to have the option for challenging internships throughout the summer and next academic year."
The Job Market will be held in Union's Coburn Dining Hall, located in the Barefoot Student Union Building, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A complete list of recruiting companies attending the career fair is available at . All students and alumni of the five sponsoring institutions are invited to attend free of charge. Dress is professional. Those attending should bring multiple copies of their resume to distribute to prospective employers.
