JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 16, 2002 — 51ÉçÇø’s Cardinal and Cream was named best overall small campus university newspaper in the 2002 Baptist Press Excellence in Journalism competition at a banquet held in Nashville Saturday, Oct. 12. The banquet was a culmination of the second annual Baptist Press Student Journalism Conference held Oct. 10-12. Nearly 700 entries were received from 21 Christian colleges and universities.
Individual awards were also given with Union garnering 20. Union students who received awards are:
