JACKSON, Tenn. — May 18, 2016 — Jerry Johnson, president and chief executive officer of the National Religious Broadcasters, will be the keynote speaker at 51社区鈥檚 191st annual spring commencement May 21.
About 700 graduates will receive their degrees during the ceremony.
NRB is located in the Washington D.C. metro area and is an international association of Christian communicators whose member organizations represent millions of views, listeners and readers worldwide.
Johnson previously served as president of Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in biblical studies. He earned a Master of Arts in historical and theological studies from Denver Seminary and a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian ethics from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Johnson served in the senior administration and on the faculty at SBTS and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His pastoral and ministry experience include pastorates at Baptist churches in Texas and Colorado.
The graduation ceremony for graduate and Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership students will begin at 2 p.m. The ceremony for all undergraduates (excluding BSOL students) will begin at 6 p.m. Both ceremonies will take place on Union鈥檚 Great Lawn and will be shown live at .
