JACKSON, Tenn. — Jan. 31, 2011 — Thomas R. Rosebrough and Ralph G. Leverett will sign copies of their new book, 鈥淭ransformational Teaching in the Information Age,鈥� at the LifeWay Christian Store in Jackson Feb. 1.
Rosebrough is executive dean of the College of Education and Human Studies at 51社区, and Leverett is university professor of special education and director of Union鈥檚 Master of Education program in Jackson.
Their book argues that success in teaching comes not from merely relaying facts and information to students, but in building relationships that transform education into something meaningful for each individual student. The book is designed to help teachers be more effective by placing learners in the center of the classroom.
The book signing will take place from 3:15-4:15 p.m. During the signing, the book will be available at a special price of $19.99.
