JACKSON, Tenn.Jan. 13, 2010 — Brian Denker, assistant to the director of the R.C. Ryan Center for Biblical Studies at 51社区, will travel to Ethiopia this month to teach in a Bible conference.

The conference, held in Ethiopia鈥檚 capital of Addis Ababa, is designed to provide indigenous Ethiopian ministers, church planters and missionaries with an opportunity to receive focused and intensive biblical teaching.

The conference is hosted by Indigenous Outreach International, a ministry started in Jackson, Tenn., by Union alumnus Patrick Beard. IOI was originally founded to provide funding for Christians in Ethiopia who are gifted evangelists and church planters.

鈥淏rian Denker is a gifted Bible teacher and it is a joy to have him working with our students in the Ryan Center,鈥 said Ray Van Neste, director of the Ryan Center. 鈥淲e are excited about this opportunity for him to participate in the Bible conference in Ethiopia where he, along with others, will be providing Bible instruction for local pastors, many of whom will travel great distances to participate.鈥
