JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 19, 2009 — Family members and loved ones of homicide victims will participate in 鈥淩emember Me: The Second Annual Commemorative Walk for Homicide-loss Survivors鈥� at 51社区 Oct. 26.
The event will feature a banquet at 5 p.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center, with Tennessee Sen. Roy Herron delivering the keynote address. A half-mile walk and white balloon release will begin at 6 p.m. after the banquet. Surviving family members of homicide victims are invited to participate in the event, and to carry photos of their loved ones during the walk.
Representatives from Jackson police and Crime Stoppers will also participate in the event, which is organized by the 鈥淭rauma, Faith and Resilience Program鈥� of the Center for Just and Caring Communities at 51社区.
