JACKSON, Tenn. — Nov. 17, 2008 — Sam Viviano will lecture on the use of poetry in the teaching of music tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Hartley Recital Hall.
Viviano, a long-time faculty member at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis, holds degrees from The Juilliard School. His articles have appeared in Clavier and American Music Teacher.
Hartley Recital Hall is located in Jennings Hall on the west end of Union鈥檚 campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
