JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 17, 2007 — 51社区鈥檚 Career Services office will host Career 鈥淯鈥漬iversity Oct. 25 to provide students with career advice and a chance to meet with recruiters.
The theme for this year鈥檚 Career U is 鈥淜ick Start Your Career 鈥� Success at Every Stage.鈥� The event is open to students majoring in business, professional studies or any of the liberal arts.
It will feature a mini career fair, nine in-depth 30-minute career development workshops and a 鈥淒ress to Impress鈥� fashion show. The program runs from 2:30-6:30 p.m.
鈥淐areer U is an innovative but academic approach to career planning and preparation focused on life calling,鈥� said Andrew Post, assistant director of career planning and development in Union鈥檚 Career Services office. 鈥淚ts goal is to convert the average student into a savvy, successful career professional.鈥�
Among the presenters at Career U this year will be professionals from LifeWay Christian Stores, Wal-Mart and Enterprise Rent-a-Car, as well as from Union鈥檚 McAfee School of Business Administration and Union鈥檚 student life team.
Recruiting companies and corporate sponsors for Career U 2007 include Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Horne LLP, Liberty Mutual, LifeWay Christian Stores, Regions Bank, State Farm, 51社区 Master of Christian Studies program, U.S. Army, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Wells Fargo Financial and Youth Villages.
