JACKSON, Tenn. — March 15, 2007 — New York artist Makoto Fujimura will speak in chapel at 51社区 March 16 at 10 a.m.
Fujimura has worked as a successful artist in Japan and the United States for more than 20 years, during which time he has become a bicultural authority on the nature and cultural assessment of beauty.
He is the founder of the International Arts Movement and was appointed by President Bush to the National Council on the Arts in 2003.
鈥淏ut above all else, Makoto Fujimura is a fervent believer and follower in Christ Jesus,鈥 said Lee Benson, chairman of Union鈥檚 art department.
The chapel service in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel is free and open to the public.
