Sean Evans is a new political science professor this year at Union who specializes in American politics and government. He thinks believers should carefully consider the men and women they send to represent them.

"Edmond Burke, the father of classical conservatism, once said that ‘your representative owes you not only his industry, but his judgement; and he betrays instead of serves you if he sacrifices it to your opinion, ’" says Evans.

"I think it’s very important that people clearly research and study the candidate of their choice, making sure that this individual will represent your views and ideals, and represent them well," adds Evans.

Coburn agrees: "God gives you a sensitivity to be able to know if somebody is truly exposing their heart to you, because they’ll be honest about their failings and weaknesses. They’ll be honest about the things they’re conflicted about, but also, the things that they know they will never stammer or stutter about. They’ll be clear."
