JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 13, 2006 — 51社区 junior Derek Carson was recently elected as chairman of the Council of Presidents for the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity during a meeting in New Braunfels, Texas.
Carson, a business major from New Boston, Texas, serves as president of the 51社区 chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha.
鈥淚 just look at it as another opportunity to serve,鈥� Carson said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a really good opportunity to share some of my perspectives and beliefs about the way brotherhood ought to be.鈥�
As chairman of the Council of Presidents, Carson will preside during his one-year term over all meetings where presidents of all local Lambda Chi Alpha chapters worldwide will meet for strategy planning and leadership development.
He will also have a seat on the Grand High Zeta, the governing board of Lambda Chi Alpha International.
