JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 25, 2005 — 51社区鈥檚 Career Services office will host Career 鈥淯鈥漬iversity Thursday, Oct. 27, to provide students with career advice.
The theme for this year鈥檚 event is 鈥淭he Real World: It鈥檚 Not Reality TV, It鈥檚 Reality,鈥� and all workshops will be spin-offs from various reality TV shows. They will address such topics as interviewing strategies, the value of internships and how to be successful in balancing career, school and family.
The event will include five in-depth workshops and a plenary session, led by Todd Brady, minister to the university, and Carla Sanderson, university provost. Also part of the day鈥檚 activities will be a Dress to Impress fashion show and an Extreme Makeover segment.
Corporate sponsors for Career 鈥淯鈥漬iversity are AmSouth Bank, Coca-Cola Bottling Consolidated, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Wells Fargo Financial and Wal-Mart.
Registration begins at 2:20 p.m., with the program starting at 2:50 p.m. in Harvey Auditorium. The program will end at 6:15 p.m.
