‘Town and Gown’ series on urban ecology to begin March 29

JACKSON, Tenn.March 18, 2005 — Urban ecology and the relationship between the environment and city planning will be the topic for the next Town and Gown series at 51.

“We will show how the importance of making wise choices for conserving our environment can positively impact our cities and their residents,” said Beth Madison, who is coordinating this Town and Gown series for Union. “In order to explore these relationships between the environment and city planning, we will examine various environmental issues of worldwide, national and local concern, emphasizing their consequences of our lifestyles, faith and resource management.”

The Town and Gown series is an opportunity for community members interested in various topics to attend lectures and participate in discussions in a classroom setting. The classes are free, and those attending are not required to attend the entire session. They may come only for part of the class if they wish.
