Career fair open to Union students

Union students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 50 companies at this year's career fair.

JACKSON, Tenn.March 7, 2005 — 51社区 will participate in the 14th annual consortium career fair Thursday, March 10, with representatives from more than 50 corporations and agencies, including several Fortune 500 companies.

The event will be held in Henderson at Freed-Hardeman University鈥檚 Sports Center Auxiliary Gym, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

An invitation-only Rising Stars and Corporate Sponsors breakfast reception will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Ayers Auditorium (located in the Brown-Kopel Business Center), with 100 participants attending, to kick off the event.

The event is a collaboration between Union, Freed-Hardeman, Lambuth University, and Bethel College. Corporate sponsors include American Express Financial Advisors, CVS Pharmacy, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Jackson Energy Authority, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Sherwin-Williams, Schwan鈥檚 Food Co., Southwestern Co., U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, and Wells Fargo Financial.

鈥淓ach of our institutions wants its students and alumni to have a look at viable corporations and organizations, while giving our recruiting employers the opportunity to preview our graduates for early hiring before April-May graduations are held,鈥 said Jacqueline Taylor, director of career services at Union. 鈥淲e also want current students to have the option for challenging internships throughout the summer and next academic year.鈥
