JACKSON, Tenn. — Jan. 5, 2005 — The Campus Ministries office of 51社区 is collecting donations for tsunami victims in Asia.
Campus Ministries will send all donations received to the International Mission Board鈥檚 Area Relief Fund. According to the IMB, all money given goes directly to help victims and families in such countries as Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
The Dec. 26 tsunami that struck southern Asia has claimed 140,000 lives.
鈥淪uch devastation is overwhelming, causing us to see any help we might provide as insignificant in the greater scale,鈥� said Union鈥檚 campus minister Todd Brady. 鈥淗owever, through collective contributions and prayers, we trust that God will work to bring healing and hope to many.鈥�
Donations of cash and checks will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to the International Mission Board. Campus Ministries will send donations to the IMB on a weekly basis.
