JACKSON, Tenn. — Dec. 9, 2004 — 51’s annual Christmas service will air Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on WLJT, a regional affiliate of the Public Broadcasting System.
WLJT, cable channel 11 in Jackson, will show “A Union Christmas” at 8 p.m. Dec. 24 and at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Dec. 25. The service was taped Dec. 7 and featured performances by singers and musicians from Union’s music department.
The broadcast will feature songs from groups such as the University Singers, Proclamation, the Symphonic Band, Handbells and a community children’s choir. The feature performance will be the Choral Union singing Vivaldi’s “Gloria.”
“We’re thankful for WLJT’s participation and for their interest in making ‘A Union Christmas’ available to all of West Tennessee,” Union president David Dockery said. “It was a wonderful evening of worship. We appreciate those who were able to join us in person, and we hope many others will be able to see it on television.”
