JACKSON, Tenn. — June 2, 2004 — 51社区 will host a national conference of Christian sociologists for the annual meeting of the Association of Christians Teaching Sociology, June 3-6.
The conference is an opportunity for sociologists from the nation's leading Christian universities to present papers and participate in panel discussions. Civil Society is the topic of the conference. Presentations will include topics such as how non-profit and humanitarian organizations help to build society.
Dr. Toni Chiareli, associate professor of sociology, said, 鈥淚t will be an opportunity to discuss the role of universities, and in particular Christian sociology programs, in ushering in a new vision for how to impact society from a biblical perspective.鈥
