JACKSON, Tenn. — May 4, 2004 — Edmund C. Moy, special assistant to the president and associate director of presidential personnel at the White House, will address 51社区鈥檚 graduating class of 2004 Saturday, May 22, during the university鈥檚 spring commencement exercises. Moy will give a speech titled 鈥淎ll for Christ.鈥�
Moy is responsible for recommending to President George Bush candidates for political appointments. He served on the Homeland Security transition and helped staff the new department. Moy also serves on the board of directors of Christianity Today International and the board of directors for the Christianity Today Foundation.
鈥淢r. Moy is a good friend of 51社区, and it will be a privilege to welcome him to our campus,鈥� Union President David S. Dockery said. 鈥淗e is one of the most respected Christian laymen in the evangelical world and certainly one of the most admired Asian Americans in the country today.鈥�
Moy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a triple major: economics, international relations and political science. Prior to his current public service, Moy has held a variety of positions both in the public and private sectors, including serving as the director of the office of managed care during the administration of President George H. W. Bush, from 1989-1993.
