JACKSON, Tenn. — April 13, 2004 — The McAfee School of Business Administration at 51社区 will host its second annual 鈥淏usiness Through the Eyes of Faith鈥� conference on April 30 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Coburn Dining Room in the Barefoot Student Union Building on the Union campus. The luncheon focuses on promoting Christian practices in West Tennessee businesses and incorporating those values as part of a business ethic.
鈥淭his is part of our mission at Union鈥攖o encourage the business community to use Christian principles and values,鈥� said Kenny Holt, director of the Center for Business & Economic Development. 鈥淲e have people attending from all levels of business administration, from entry-level employees to self-employed people to presidents and CEOs of large corporations.鈥�
The featured speaker at the luncheon will be Richard C. Chewning, a professor of Christian ethics in business and the author of numerous books including Business Through the Eyes of Faith. Serving as distinguished scholar in residence at John Brown University, Chewning holds degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Washington and has taught at numerous colleges and universities including Baylor University, the University of Richmond, and the University of Washington. He is the author of seven books on Christian business ethics and biblical principles and has written more than 90 articles, essays, and reviews on the subject. In addition to other awards, Chewning has been named Distinguished Educator at Baylor University, listed in Who鈥檚 Who in America and honored with 鈥淟ifetime Membership鈥� in the Christian Business Faculty Association.
