JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 19, 2004 — Students who have been accepted for admission to 51社区 for the fall 2004 term will be invited to participate in the Spring Thing, an event scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 30-May 1. The weekend will feature a performance by Caedmon's Call and early registration opportunities. Students will participate in other campus activities along with Union's current students.
"The Spring Thing will give students who are coming to Union in the fall an opportunity to experience campus life up close," said Kathie Chute, associate vice president for university relations and enrollment services. "They will be able to stay in campus housing, register for classes and hear Caedmon's Call perform."
The award-winning Christian group, Caedmon's Call, will perform only for Union's student body and for the students participating in the Spring Thing. Tickets will not be sold to the general public, and outside groups will not be admitted to the concert. To date, Caedmon's Call has accumulated more than one million career record sales, garnered six number one radio singles and 10 Dove Award nominations.
"This is a very special event intended only for the weekend's participants," Chute said. "We are very pleased to be able to feature Caedmon's Call."
Incoming students will have the opportunity to meet potential roommates, meet with academic advisors and visit with campus organizational representatives about ways to become involved once they arrive.
To be eligible to attend, students must be accepted for admission for fall 2004 and be permitted to register for classes no later than April 23. For more information, call 661.5210 or 800.338-6466.
