JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 29, 2003 — More than 350 51社区 students are expected to get a jumpstart on their careers Oct. 2 at the third annual Career University, sponsored by the Office of Career Services.
Career University starts at 2 p.m. and will include several 30-minute sessions for undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni. This year鈥檚 theme is Calling, Career, & Christian Worldview.
鈥淥ur workshops will emphasize how God鈥檚 calling should and will have a direct impact on each students鈥 career and Christian Worldview,鈥 said Jacqueline Taylor, director of career services. 鈥淭his thematic approach is specifically designed to encourage students to seriously consider the impact of God鈥檚 calling on their lives and to help them understand that their vocation should and will be their ministry in life.鈥
Among the featured sessions are vocation as ministry, servant leadership, resumes that work and understanding giftedness. Taylor said other topics will be discussed including interview skills, networking, and how to conduct the job search and negotiate salary in an ethical manner.
Union鈥檚 SIFE team will sponsor a 鈥淒ress to Impress鈥 fashion show 3:50 p.m. in Harvey Auditorium. Corporate sponsors in Enterprise, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, and Wells Fargo.
