Union Series Considers Environmental Issues

JACKSON, Tenn.July 1, 2003 — The Town & Gown Series of 51社区 will present a five week look at environmental issues July 1-29. Free and open to the public, each Tuesday evening session begins at 6 p.m. in room A-9 of Union's Penick Academic Complex.

The sessions will address issues such as global warming, air and water pollution, energy conservation, waste management, wildlife management, soil and water conservation, and environmental policy and regulations.

"This course will address various environmental issues of worldwide, national, and local concern emphasizing their consequences on our lifestyles, faith, and resource management," said Beth Madison, the course instructor. "We will look at practical examples of things we can begin doing today that will affect resource availability for our future."

Multiple experts will present perspectives on these issues underscoring the importance of individual contributions to stewardship and resource conservation for future generations.
