JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 16, 2001 — 51社区 will host the annual Job Market career fair on Thursday, March 1, from 10 - 2 p.m. in the Palmer Activities Center in the Penick Academic Complex.
"The purpose of the career fair is to give students a chance to prepare for the real job search after graduation, have exposure to Fortune 500 companies and have a great networking experience," said Lynn Gnaegy, director of career services. "For the economy to be as slow as it is right now, it says a lot that these employers are still coming and are willing to cultivate relationships with the students, even freshmen."
The fair is the largest in the university's history, featuring more than 57 companies including the United States Army, Coca-Cola, Nike, Sherwin Williams, Wells Fargo and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Students and alumni from 51社区, Freed-Hardeman University, Lambuth University, Lane College and Bethel College are invited. Participants should dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume to the fair.
