JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 24, 2002 — 51社区鈥檚 School of Nursing will hold a nursing leadership conference at the Germantown campus on Thursday, Oct. 3. More than 200 nurses from the Shelby County and surrounding areas are registered for the conference which will provide nurses with information that will expand and enhance their leadership skills while providing an opportunity to network with leaders in the nursing profession.
The meeting begins at 8:45 a.m. with a welcome from Susan Jacob, dean and professor of nursing at Union. Following the welcome, Leah Curtin, senior partner in Metier Consultants and editor-in-chief of Nursing Management, will give a presentation titled 鈥淐reating a Hope-Filled Sustainable Future for Our Health Care System.鈥
Afterwards, attendants will have two breakout sessions on a variety of topics, including a discussion on health care laws and a session on professional ethics.
Regular registration is $75, and for students, $25. There is also an on-site registration fee of $80. Although there is no deadline for registration, lunch is only available for those who register before Tuesday, Oct. 1.
