Wheaton provost to speak at Union

JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 20, 2002 — National psychologist and professor Stanton L. Jones will speak at 51社区 Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel. Jones is currently provost of Wheaton College, one of the world鈥檚 leading Christian universities and home of the Billy Graham Center.

Before his appointment as provost, Jones was chair of Wheaton鈥檚 psychology department. He has served as a research fellow of the Pew Evangelical Scholars Program, has been a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago and the University of Cambridge and recently completed a three-year term as a member of the Council of Representatives of the American Psychological Association.

A widely read author, his book, Psychology and Christianity: Four Views, was recently described in the Christian Scholar鈥檚 Review as the most important book on psychology and Christianity published in the last fifteen years. Jones is a graduate of Texas A & M University and holds the Ph.D. from Arizona State.
