JACKSON, Tenn. — July 9, 2002 — Worship will be the theme and focus of 51’s 2002 Pastors’ School, July 29 – August 1. Franklin Pollard, president of the Mississippi Baptist Convention and former pastor of First Baptist Church in Jackson, Miss., and Rick White, pastor of First Baptist “The People’s Church,” Franklin, Tenn., are two of the featured speakers for the conference, sponsored by Union’s R.G. Lee Center for Christian Ministries.
Topics for the conference will address the questions of what praise and worship is in today’s church, the Biblical foundations of worship, learning to worship and the focus of worship. Other speakers for the four-day event include Paul Jackson, associate professor of Christian studies at Union, Greg and Sheila McFadden, First Baptist Church, Hohenwald, Tenn., and Charles Fowler, vice president for development and church relations at Union.
Meals and campus housing are provided at a cost of $50 per individual or $75 per couple. Those who have made arrangements off campus are only required to pay for meals – $30 for individuals and $45 for couples. Meal plans are also available for children.
