Fourth annual School of Christian Studies Banquet honors graduating seniors

JACKSON, Tenn.April 12, 2002 — 51社区鈥檚 School of Christian Studies recently held its fourth annual Christian Studies Banquet, celebrating the close of a wonderful year and honoring nine of its outstanding Christian Studies students.

The evening was filled with sweet memories, delectable food, an intriguing speech and great Christian fellowship. Union President David S. Dockery and his wife contributed to this wonderful atmosphere by attending the event along with Mark Dever, well-known author and pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., who was the guest speaker.

Culminating the evening, faculty members from the Christian Studies department each presented an award to recognize one remarkable senior and his or her contribution to the department. All awards are given to the student with the highest grade point average and who has exhibited great excellence in the department.

The H.E. Dana Intermediate Greek Award - Jonathan Stonecipher, Troy, Ill.
The Curtis Vaughan Elementary Greek Award - James Waddell, Collierville, Tenn.
The Mark Hatfield Ethics Award - Michele Bennett, Jackson, Tenn.
The R.G. Lee Christian Ministry Award - Joey Marshall, Spring Hill, Tenn.
The J.P. Boyce Theology and Philosophy Award - Michael Kirby, Lebanon, Tenn.
The Billy Graham Christian Character Award - Rebecca Young, Mount Juliet, Tenn.
The George Savage Hebrew and Old Testament Studies Award- Lon Graham, Jackson, Tenn., and Jonathan Baine, Winston Salem, N.C.
The Perseverance Award - Jeremy Rasnic, Jackson, Tenn.
