JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 19, 2024 — 51社区 will host Family Weekend 2024, one of the university鈥檚 favorite annual traditions, Sept. 27-28 with a variety of events and activities for the whole family.
Key events include the Make-a-Wish cookout on Friday night from 5-7 p.m. (advance tickets required) and a movie on the lawn, where 鈥淭he Lego Batman Movie鈥� will be shown in Grace Quad at 8 p.m. that evening.
On Saturday, early risers can join in Buster鈥檚 5K Dash beginning at Miller Tower at 8 a.m., while the President鈥檚 Brunch at 10 a.m. in the Grant Center gives families an opportunity to dine together (advance tickets required).
The Union Jaxx and Jillz Ultimate Frisbee teams will play that afternoon on the soccer practice field. The highlight of the weekend will be Union Night on the Great Lawn from 5-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, with food trucks, tents from various departments and student organizations and a fireworks display over Miller Tower.
Guests are encouraged to visit the atrium in the Student Union Building on Sept. 27 to pick up their schedules and any pre-ordered T-shirts. Additional shirts will be available for purchase at both the SUB and Union Night.
