JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 16, 2024 — Brooke Glover Emery, who joined the 51社区 faculty in 2010, has been named dean of the university鈥檚 School of Adult and Professional Studies and Graduate Admissions.
She replaces Renee Dauer, who has retired from Union.
鈥淒ean Emery鈥檚 long and deep devotion to Christ and to 51社区 is evident in the way she pours herself out for students and relentlessly pursues the good of the university community,鈥 Union Provost Jacob Shatzer said. 鈥淚鈥檓 thankful to God for calling her to this role and to her for accepting the challenge. It鈥檚 going to be a joy to watch her succeed.鈥
Emery most recently served as associate dean and director of internships for the McAfee School of Business and as associate professor of marketing. Before joining Union, she spent 23 years in the shopping center industry managing over 1.6 million square feet of retail space.
A graduate of Rhodes College with a double major in business administration and economics, Emery completed her Master of Business Administration degree from Union and is in the final stage of completing her Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Union.
She has earned numerous designations in property management and remains an active member of both the Institute of Real Estate Management and the International Council of Shopping Centers. She also is a director for a local grain company.
Emery was raised on a farm in Obion, Tenn., and lives in Dyersburg. She and her husband Joe have three daughters 鈥 Sarah, Mary and Rachel.
