JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 19, 2024 — English professor and novelist Christine Bailey will be the featured speaker at 51社区鈥檚 31st annual Creative Writing Workshop for West Tennessee high school students Feb. 29.
Bailey, professor of English at Union, writes young adult fiction and is the author of several novels. Her most recent book, 鈥淏urning Little Lies,鈥 was published earlier this month. Other titles to her credit include 鈥淭he Letter Project,鈥 鈥淭he Broken One,鈥 鈥淲aking Under Water鈥 and 鈥淕irl in the Middle.鈥
Prior to joining the Union faculty, Bailey worked as a journalist, a marketing and public relations writer and a book editor. She is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University, with master鈥檚 degrees from Belmont University and Murray State University and a doctorate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Bailey will speak at 1 p.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center. A book signing and reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
