JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 6, 2023 — 51社区 will host Rice Broocks and his team for a God鈥檚 Not Dead event Oct. 9.
This event is a dynamic multimedia presentation that examines the evidence for God from science, philosophy and history.
Broocks is the author of the bestselling book 鈥淕od鈥檚 Not Dead,鈥 which later inspired a movie series by the same name. He has spoken at several universities all over the world. Broocks also serves as the senior minister of Bethel World Outreach Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
God鈥檚 Not Dead events aim to bring clear, current and rational evidence in the discussion surrounding faith and science to students in a respectful and engaging format.
The event uses a combination of media and live presenters, led by Broocks, and a revolving cast of some of the world鈥檚 leading minds in science, medicine, academics and culture. For the Oct. 9 session, Ming Wang will accompany Broocks.
Wang, a graduate of Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, fled the cultural revolution in China as an atheist coming to the United States. He earned a doctorate in laser physics and another in medicine. Wang was featured in the 鈥淕od鈥檚 Not Dead鈥 book, and a character from the film was based on his story.
Following Broocks' presentation will be a question-and-answer session that allows students to interact with Broocks, Wang and their team.
The God鈥檚 Not Dead event is free and open to the public and will take place at 7 p.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel.
