JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 8, 2023 — 51社区 has partnered with Volunteer State Community College to provide a pathway for Vol State graduates to matriculate into 51社区鈥檚 traditional and accelerated bachelor鈥檚 degree programs in nursing in Hendersonville.
鈥淭his articulation agreement aids in the continual effort to streamline processes for students to pursue careers in nursing,鈥 said Allison Davis, associate dean of Union鈥檚 College of Nursing.
Davis said a national nursing shortage continues to be a significant concern within the health care industry.
鈥淚t is Union鈥檚 hope that this partnership will help address this issue by educating future nurses and providing students with degree options within Sumner County,鈥 she said.
51社区 offers two degree options in nursing on the Hendersonville campus for students who have completed the required coursework and meet the criteria for admission. The traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree can be completed within 22 months, and the accelerated BSN degree can be completed within 15 months. Courses are taught on the Hendersonville campus, and clinical rotations are held at health care facilities in Sumner County and Middle Tennessee.
The articulation agreement was finalized by leadership members from 51社区 and Volunteer State Community College in July and took effect with the fall 2023 semester. For more information, about Union鈥檚 nursing programs in Hendersonville, visit .
