Union will host regional social work conference

JACKSON, Tenn.March 11, 2002 — 51社区鈥檚 Department of Sociology and Social Work, in cooperation with the North American Association of Christians in Social Work (NACSW), will host the organization鈥檚 state regional conference on Monday, March 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Union Building in the Harvey auditorium.

The conference will include presentations on the following topics: 鈥淗omeland Security: Understanding Terrorism,鈥 鈥淪ocial Work on the Front Line: Crises in a Changing World,鈥 and 鈥淒eveloping Coalitions: Churches and Social Workers as Partners.鈥

Lawrence E. Ressler, Ph.D., ACSW, CSW, professor of social work and associate chair of the social work and social science division at Roberts Wesleyan College, will be the featured speaker. Other local speakers include Sean Jones, LCSW, with Pathways; Mary Tyler, Area Relief Ministries, and Mary Anne Poe, social work program director and assistant professor of sociology and social work.
