JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 20, 2022 — Michael S. Neiberg, professor of history and chair of war studies at the United States Army War College, will serve as the 25th annual Carls-Schwerdfeger History lecturer on Oct. 24 at 51社区.
Neiberg will host two lectures on campus. He will begin at 2 p.m. in Union鈥檚 Carl Grant Events Center discussing 鈥淩econstructing Europe after World War I: The Paris Peace Conference of 1919.鈥� Neiberg will conclude with 鈥淧erilous Times: America鈥檚 Search for Security after the Fall of France in World War II鈥� at 7:15 p.m. in the G. M. Savage Memorial Chapel.
Neiberg has published over 20 books on modern warfare, which has led him to receive numerous honors, including the Harry S. Truman Book Award for his work, 鈥淧otsdam: The End of World War II and the Remaking of Europe,鈥� and the Distinguished Book Award from the Society for Military History for his book, 鈥淲hen France Fell: The Vichy Crisis and the Fate of the Anglo-American Alliance.鈥�
In addition to his books, Neiberg has also been recognized as an Outstanding Academy Educator Award from the United States Air Force Academy and a Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
Prior to teaching at the United States Army War College, Neiberg taught at the United States Air Force Academy and the University of Southern Mississippi after receiving his doctorate in history at Carnegie Mellon University.
