Forsythe exhibit opens in Union art gallery

JACKSON, Tenn.March 7, 2002 — 51社区鈥檚 Art Gallery is currently featuring a selection of works by artist Donald Forsythe. The Pennsylvania native鈥檚 exhibit will run through April 1 and is free to the public.

Fifty different pieces are on display in the gallery and include a variety of small and medium sized collages in addition to two large box constructions. Though the Union gallery show focuses on collage art, Forsythe has a variety of artistic talents, including folk art preservation, stain glass, and printmaking. He has also hosted workshops on various art techniques around the country.

Forsythe received his master鈥檚 of fine arts in printmaking and photography in 1979 from the Rochester Institute of Technology, in New York. Currently, he is a professor of visual and theatrical arts at Messiah College in Grantham, Pa.
