JACKSON, Tenn. — March 1, 2002 — Michael Penny, an associate professor of music at 51社区, will hold a voice recital on Tuesday, March 5. The recital will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Hartley Hall in Jennings Hall.
Penny鈥檚 recital consist of pieces he chose from a song cycle on poems taken from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings by British composer Donald Swann. A sampler of contemporary American art songs will also be performed.
Penny teaches various subjects in the area of singing. As a part of Union鈥檚 music department, he teaches applied voice and opera as well as singer鈥檚 diction and hymnology.
