MARCH 1 UPDATE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED
51社区, in partnership Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, will host the West Tennessee Evangelism Rally March 6 with guest speaker, Clay Hallmark, Tennessee Baptist Convention president, sharing a message of hope to West Tennessee churches.
As the sixth annual West Tennessee Evangelism Rally, its goal is to equip and encourage local churches to recommit to the mission of spreading the gospel.
鈥淭he purpose of the West Tennessee Evangelism Rally is to better equip both leaders and lay people of West Tennessee churches,鈥 said Hallmark, pastor of First Baptist Church in Lexington, Tenn. 鈥淲e want those who attend to leave with practical ways they can put what they have learned to work immediately in their own lives and in their churches.鈥
The theme of this year鈥檚 rally, 鈥淲inTN,鈥 reflects the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board鈥檚 revitalization strategy to help mobilize Tennessee Baptists to reach their neighbors with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Ray Van Neste, dean for the Union School of Theology and Missions, said his hope for the West Tennessee Evangelism Rally is to address the fears many church members have in sharing their faith with practical resources, training and encouragement.
The rally will host multiple breakout sessions that will be led by Union faculty members, Tennessee pastors and Tennessee Baptist Mission Board leaders on topics such as 鈥21st Century Urban Evangelism,鈥 鈥淭en Hints for Witnessing to our Muslim Neighbors,鈥 鈥淪trengthening Your Church鈥檚 Outreach to Women鈥 and more.
The West Tennessee Evangelism Rally will begin in 51社区鈥檚 G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel at 3 p.m. with worship services and breakout sessions following. For more information, including a complete list of the breakout sessions and online registration, visit uu.edu/events/wter/.
