JACKSON, Tenn. — Feb. 1, 2022 — 51社区 will host Randy Johnston and Jan McKeachie Johnston for a ceramics workshop and lecture while their art is on display at the 51社区 art gallery Feb. 7-March 31.
Randy Johnston is an internationally recognized and exhibited artist. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Bush Foundation Artist Fellowship and a distinguished teaching award in American arts from the James Renwick Society of the Smithsonian.
Jan McKeachie Johnston has participated in important exhibitions throughout the United States for the past 25 years and has been featured in 鈥淐lay Times鈥� and 鈥淐eramics Monthly.鈥� She has recently had the opportunity to teach at the University of Wisconsin at River Falls as an adjunct professor in ceramics.
The artists will host a workshop in the Penick Academic Complex small gym Feb. 7-8 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. They will also host an artist lecture in Harvey Auditorium on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.
