JACKSON, Tenn.Aug. 10, 2021 — The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 51社区 has announced a new stackable partnership scholarship that will begin in the fall of 2022 in the amount of $2,000 per year to new, first-time students who are TeenPact alumni.

is a leadership training and discipleship program for 13-to-19-year-old students who learn how to engage in the culture and state government from a Christian worldview. Robbie Graves, assistant vice president for undergraduate admissions, said that TeenPact alumni are exactly the kind of students they want at Union.

鈥淭hese are students who are actively pursuing their relationship with the Lord, who seek to impact culture and who are well-informed and active citizens,鈥 Graves said. 鈥淲e have some great current Union students who are TeenPact alumni who are making a difference on our campus, and I pray that many more will follow in the days ahead.鈥

One of these TeenPact alumni is Lydia Verdoorn, 2021 recipient of the Founders鈥 Scholarship. Peggy Adams, director of development for TeenPact, believes this new scholarship can give even more students like Verdoorn the opportunity to gain a Union education.

鈥淭his scholarship can put Union within the reach of people who may not have even considered it before,鈥 Adams said. 鈥淚t puts a school like Union in the realm of the average family instead of them assuming that they can't afford a private Christian education.鈥

As a mother of five Union alumni, she has seen that the missions of TeenPact and 51社区 align well.

鈥淭eenPact and Union both promote excellence in everything they are about,鈥 Adams said. 鈥淭he goal for both is to create great Christian leaders who are equipped in their faith and who are engaging with the culture.鈥
