JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 30, 2020 — 51社区鈥檚 School of Theology and Missions is accepting entries from high school juniors and seniors for its annual Bible and Theology Essay Contest.
In their essays, students may explore a specific biblical text or theological concept directly or apply the Bible and theology to questions of worldview, apologetics or ethics. Essays will be judged according to style, clarity, depth of thought and strength of argument or exposition.
Essays must be 1,500 words or less and contain a minimum of three academic sources. They are due by Nov. 1. The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship to Union, while the second-place winner will receive a $500 scholarship and the third-place winner will get a $250 scholarship.
In addition, several of the top essays will be published in a book with the contributors invited to a dinner for the launch of the publication in the spring.
