JACKSON, Tenn.July 22, 2020 — Thomas R. Rosebrough, university professor of education at 51社区, will be the keynote speaker for Union鈥檚 summer graduation ceremony July 25.

Ninety-three graduate and adult studies students will receive their degrees during the 10 a.m. ceremony at West Jackson Baptist Church. The event marks the close of the 2019-2020 academic year.

Rosebrough served from 1996-2017 as dean of the College of Education and Human Studies at Union. He has spent more than 40 years in Christian higher education, having served at Mount Vernon Nazarene College, Trevecca Nazarene College and Malone College prior to Union. Rosebrough was the lead author of the widely recognized 2011 book, 鈥淭ransformational Teaching in the Information Age: Making Why and How We Teach Relevant to Students.鈥

The Rosebrough Center for Educational Practice in the School of Education is named in his honor. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy, master鈥檚 and bachelor鈥檚 degree from Ohio State University. Rosebrough will retire later this summer.
