JACKSON, Tenn. — June 30, 2020 — Kim Jones, assistant dean for student services and professor of pharmacy practice in 51社区鈥檚 College of Pharmacy, was recently chosen as president-elect for the Tennessee Pharmacists Association.
Jones鈥 installation came during the TPA鈥檚 summer meeting held virtually June 18-21. She will take over as president of the organization next summer.
TPA is a professional organization that advances, protects and promotes high-quality pharmacist-provided patient care in Tennessee, according to its mission statement.
鈥淚t鈥檚 really quite an honor to be elected to this position, because TPA encompasses various practice backgrounds within the profession of pharmacy,鈥 Jones said. 鈥淚鈥檓 an academician working in a non-patient care setting, but I鈥檒l be representing anyone from long-term care, independent mom-and-pop-type stores, inpatient hospital or healthcare settings, consulting, compounding, nuclear pharmacy, retail. It鈥檚 neat to be the representative voice for so many subsets of the profession.鈥
