Nursing seminar to discuss opportunities for the future

JACKSON, Tenn.Jan. 30, 2001 — 51社区's School of Nursing will present the Fourth Annual Homecoming Health Care Issues Seminar, "Launching Your Career Into The Twenty-first Century," Friday, Feb. 16.

The seminar will be led by Union alumni and faculty, with the concluding session led by Vernessa Ekelem, a pediatrician whose Christian ministry includes various healthcare activities in the community. Participants in the seminar will discuss developing trends in community health nursing, acute care nursing of adults and children and leadership-management in nursing in the twenty-first century. Other issues will also be explored including West Tennessee community initiatives, which promote the holistic development of children, and faith-based ministries that expand access to health care for under-served populations.

Dinner is included and the opportunity for Continued Education Units (CEUs) is also available. Total cost for the evening is $30. For more information or to register for the seminar, contact the School of Nursing at (901) 661-5200.
