Union to host career fair for education and professional studies majors

JACKSON, Tenn.March 6, 2018 — 51 will host “College to Career,” a recruiting opportunity for area employers, March 8.

Both undergraduate and graduate students in education and professional studies programs, in addition to students in critical shortage areas such as math, biology, physics, chemistry, Spanish, French and teaching English as a second language, have been invited to attend.

The expo provides a competitive platform for Union’s top students to network and market their talents to recruiters representing school systems and employers from a variety of organizations.

Employers scheduled to participate include LifeWay Christian Resources, Northwestern Mutual, Youth Villages, the Jackson-Madison County School System, American Fire Protection Group, the Bank of Jackson, Boys and Girls Club of Jackson, Brannon Professionals, Capital Financial Group, Enterprise Holdings, McDowell Center, Regions Bank, Scribe America, Stanley Black and Decker, Sun Tan City, Nidec, West Tennessee Healthcare, Redeemers Group and several school systems across West Tennessee.

The event is sponsored by Union’s Vocatio Center for Life Calling and Career, the School of Education’s teacher education program and Union’s business, nursing, computer science, engineering and social work programs.

College to Career will take place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center.
