JACKSON, Tenn. — Dec. 13, 2016 — Sen. Bob Corker will deliver the commencement address at 51社区鈥檚 undergraduate commencement ceremony Dec. 17 at West Jackson Baptist Church at 10 a.m.
鈥淪en. Corker has been a great friend to 51社区, and he鈥檚 proven himself to be a faithful public servant throughout his career,鈥� 51社区 President Samuel W. 鈥淒ub鈥� Oliver said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e honored to welcome him as our commencement speaker.鈥�
The 10 a.m. ceremony will be for all undergraduate students except for adult studies students. Another ceremony at 1:30 p.m. will be for graduate and adult studies students. C. Ben Mitchell, Union鈥檚 provost, will speak at the afternoon ceremony.
A total of about 300 students will receive their degrees during both services.
Lower level seating is reserved for those involved in the ceremony or for guests of graduates. Other visitors are requested to sit in the balcony.
