JACKSON, Tenn.Oct. 24, 2016 — 51’s department of music will hold its annual fall choral concert from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Oct. 27 at First Baptist Church in Jackson.

The concert gives Union students an opportunity to share their work with the community, said Dan Musselman, acting chair of the music department.

“It’s the culmination of a long process of preparation as a group,” Musselman said. “These musicians have something good to offer.”

Groups performing at the concert are Cantilena, Voices of Proclamation and the 51 Singers. The choirs will perform many styles of music, including a piece from an oratorio and arrangements of Appalachian folk songs.

“Something like this is becoming unique in our world -- a live performance of great work from both the past and the present,” Musselman said.

The concert is free and open to the public.
