JACKSON, Tenn. — Oct. 21, 2016 — The Tennessee Court of Appeals will hold court on the 51社区 campus Oct. 26. The Middle Section court will hear three cases, set for oral appellate argument in Harvey Hall.
Students are invited to attend, and the sessions will allow them to see how the court system works firsthand. Three judges will hear the cases on a variety of civil matters. This will be Union鈥檚 first time hosting civil cases. Union hosted the Court of Criminal Appeals in February.
The first case will be at 9:30 a.m., followed by cases at 10:30 and 11:30. No one will be allowed to enter or exit the courtroom during each case. No food, drink, talking or electronic devices are allowed.
The Union community will have an opportunity to ask the judges questions during an informal question and answer session after court in the Coburn Dining Room from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.
